民國96年通過新藥師法「藥師執業應接受繼續教育，並每六年提出完成繼續教育證明文件，辦理職業執照更新」，顯示藥師持續教育課程的需求、設計、內容、執行的重要性。桃園縣藥師公會持續教育委員會自民國94年5月起，整合與分享醫院資源，以較低學分費、彈性選課、多元方式辦理課程。經歷一年半的改革，我們郵寄不記名的問卷，調查桃園藥事人員對持續教育課程的需求、參加者的意見及沒參加的原因。
於民國96年元月回收有效問卷349份，回收率為18.2%。在藥廠、藥品公司的藥事人員的回收率偏低。對於必修課程的需求以「病患用藥指導」最高，其餘依序是「心血管疾症」、「皮膚科用藥」，而「政令倫理法規」的需求最低。選修課程以「營養保健」最多人勾選，其次依序是「藥局經營」、「美容化妝品管理」。曾參加者對於課程特色認同度達4.18分(滿分為5分)；對於講師及場地的滿意度達4.15分(滿分為5分)。參加梯次愈多者滿意度愈高。182位未參加持續教育的原因是「學分已足夠」(41.8%)，藥廠、藥品公司及其他的藥事人員，則以「不需要學分」為主。
The regulation passed in 2007 stating that “Pharmacists are required to receive credits of continuous training, and submit certificates proving completion of continuing education every six years in order to renew their professional license” manifests the importance of the need for planning, curriculum creation, and carrying out continuing education classes for pharmacists. Since May of 2005, the Taoyuan County Council for Continuing Education for Pharmacists has reformed the course in the aspects of sharing hospital resources, flexibility of taking the whole day or half day classes, and combination of varied topics. In this study, an anonymous questionnaire were mailed to survey the needs of Taoyuan pharmacists for continuing education classes, opinion from those who attended our classes and the reasons from those who did not attend our classes.
On January 2007, we received 349 questionnaires with a return rate of 18.2%. There was a lower rate of return among pharmacists at pharmaceutical factories and companies. For the required courses, the highest demand was “Instructing Patients in the Use of Medications” and followed by “Cardiovascular System Disease,” “Use of Dermatological Medications,” with the lowest being “Governmental Regulation.” Among the elective courses, “Nutritional Care” was the most selected, and followed by “Pharmacy Administration,” “Managing Cosmetic Products.” Those who had previously attended our continuing education programs gave us a satisfaction rating of 4.18 points out of 5 on our programs, and 4.15 points on our teachers or setting. Those who had attended more classes rated the classes higher. 182 of those who had yet to attend classes gave the reason of not attending our course as “sufficient credits on continuing education program (41.8%)”, “no need for course credits” for pharmacists who worked at pharmaceutical factory.
