Date: Tuesday, 28 February 2017, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM CET (Find your local time here)
Panellist: Brigadier General Dato Dr Halim Basari (Director of Pharmacy at the Health Services Division of the Malaysian Armed Forces Headquarters, Malaysia)

As a profession, pharmacists have an important role to play in advising and counselling patients receiving medicines. Part of that requirement entails consideration being given to the cultural background of the patient. Within the Muslim community Ramadan is a period of fasting from dawn until dusk and during this period there are a number of medicines/procedures that can and cannot be taken or done.

This webinar will provide information on how pharmacists can support a patient’s medicines requirements during Ramadan.

Learning objectives
1. Identify a pharmacist’s role in supporting a patient’s medicines requirements during Ramadan.
2. Be able to counsel patients on their medicines requirements in preparation for Ramadan.
3. Explain to patients changes that occur in the body due to fasting during Ramadan.
